Slade Defense is an organization dedicated to providing top-tier firearm training exclusively for women, led by women. We empower women to confidently and safely use handguns for self-defense and personal security.

We offer a variety of courses, including 1-Day Basic Handgun, 2-Day Basic Handgun, 1- & 2-Day Advanced Tactical Handgun, and Home Defense Handgun Simulator Bay Course & Home Security. We're also developing new courses based on your feedback and demand.

Our courses are designed for women who own handguns or are interested in self-defense and personal security. Whether you're a beginner or advanced, you're welcome to join us.

Our basic handgun courses cover fundamental topics such as safe handgun operation, grip, sight picture, loading, unloading, drawing from the holster, and quick action drills. We prioritize safety and skill development.

Course durations vary, with options for 2-hour and 6-hour sessions. We recommend bringing 100 rounds of ammunition for the 1-Day Basic course and 200 rounds per day for the 2-Day Basic and 1- & 2-Day Advanced courses.

You can rent semi-automatic 9MM Pistols (Springfield Echelon and FN 509) from us, which includes eye protection, ear protection, holster, and up to 50 rounds of ammunition. If you own a 9MM semi-automatic pistol or larger (no revolvers), bring 50 rounds of ammunition, a non-locking outside the waistband holster (kydex plastic or similar), eye protection, and electronic ear protection. We recommend Alien Gear or We The People for holsters. We also perform safety checks to ensure the ammunition used is safe for the range. Just choose your course with the firearm rental option!
